If you’ve ever wanted to improve your eating habits but struggle with finding the time, keep reading!
Eating well should complement your lifestyle, not make it harder and we know that time is one of the biggest challenges when it comes to nutrition.
With a little planning and some tasty recipes, you can make healthy eating a breeze. So let's talk about one of the hacks when it comes to healthy eating… meal prepping!
We’ve put together our busy girl tips and tricks to mastering meal prep and setting yourself up for success.
Top Tips for Healthy Eating and Meal Prepping:
Be Prepared: Take some time each week to plan your meals, checking what items you need to use up and what you already have in your fridge and pantry. Planning your meals ahead of time helps you stay consistent and reduce decision fatigue.
Click & Collect: You can save a lot of time by ordering your groceries online and collecting them. Most grocery stores won’t charge extra for this and you can often save money by planning your shop ahead and taking advantage of online deals, instead of impulse buying.
Cook In Bulk: We live by the rule “cook once, eat twice” and love making extra (eg. bolognese mince) and pop it in the freezer, your future self will thank you!
Ingredient Prepping: If you’re someone who likes variety or just don't feel like eating the same thing everyday, try meal prepping ingredients rather than complete meals. Preparing large batches of staples like grilled chicken, mince, boiled eggs, rice, or roasted veggies means you can easily assemble meals without the need to start from scratch each day and saves a lot of time and stress after a long day.
Invest in quality containers: Investing in a good set of reusable containers, such as ceramic or glass that will serve you well over the years to come.
Healthy Snacks on Hand: Keep healthy snacks like nuts, fruit, and yoghurt handy. This makes it easier to grab something nourishing when hunger strikes. Something as simple as pre chopping fruit or vegetables might seem pointless but can be the difference between staying on track or not and eliminates decision fatigue.
Stay Hydrated: Sometimes, thirst is mistaken for hunger. Keep a water bottle with you and stay hydrated throughout the day. If you struggle to drink plain water, try adding electrolytes, sliced fruit or even a splash of diet rite cordial for extra flavour.
Now it's up to you! It's time to put these tips into practise.
